Those who have visited our website or our Facebook page over the past few days might have seen that the registration for the Montreal Game Jam 2016 has discreetly begun.
We only have 140 seats available this year, since our event will be held simultaneously with an Open Day at ÉTS.

Why are we charging $10 this year when it used to be a free event previously?
Every year some registrants were withdrawing at the last minute, and sometimes without informing the organizers. 220 participants out of the 260 enrolled last year have shown up to the event.
New this year, a t-shirt (limited edition!) will be provided to all participants, in addition to the traditional Friday night buffet, breakfast, snacks and beverages offered during the event.

To fully enjoy your game jam experience, we strongly recommend to come and form a team on the spot. There will be a big brainstorm session allowing you to find like-minded people to jam up with! If you choose to come as a predetermined team, please mention your team name in the registration form if that is the case.

Greetings dear jammers!
This September, Montreal Game Jam is preparing a location for those of you who would like to participate in the Indie Speed Run. The Indie Speed Run is a 48 hours game jam happening in several locations around the world. The games you made will be reviewed by a panel of famous judges such as Notch (Minecraft) and Peter Molyneux (Fable 1-3, Godus, Black and White) and more! We will be holding our event in the weekend of September 13 to 15.

Friday September 13, when the 48 hours begin, your team will be charged a 25$ fee by the Indie Speed Run.
The jam will take place at the École de technologie supérieur, the same location where we held the global game jam in January. Here’s a map showing how to find us.
We have a limited amount of places for this jam. For those of you who cannot come, we hope to see you again at our next Global Game Jam which will take place January 24 to 26.
